SOR and Sausage

Today’s lunch was from the Hallo Berlin Cart (via Midtown Lunch). I went with the #12, and no choice, because I was too overwhelmed to choose. I would recommend getting their after 12:30pm when the sausage has had a chance to warm up. Otherwise it is a long wait at the cart for the the first wurst.

Too often SOR is reduced to low latency market data processing, and too often, the business logic realities are forgotten. Trying to build an application and an INFRASTRUCTURE that is fast enough to handle the market data and at the same time flexible enough to react to the business needs is way beyond the scope of any single blog post or product for that matter.
Bringing 5, or 10, or 20 market data feeds to your CEP engine is not a CEP problem. Building an OMS that is fast enough to do SOR is not a CEP problem. Interfacing that OMS with your SOR is not a CEP problem. Merging the market data, and the OMS, and the firm’s SOR rules is not an CEP problem. The entire solution, maybe it is a CEP problem.

On the family vacation we found time to visit the Great Adirondack Steak & Seafood Company and Lake Placid Brewing. The Red Ale at GASSC was great and we scored a case of Ubu Ale from the Price Chopper.
